Outfit of the Day

I'm gonna try doing some OOTD posts featuring both items from my personal wardrobe as well as items for sale in my eBay store. I don't know if this will be something I'll continue as there are many many caveats to such an endeavor:

1) I hate taking photos of myself. Any time I'm in front of a camera, I revert to Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights - "What do I do with my hands?"
2) Even though I own a lot of clothes, I generally only wear the same 4 or 5 things.
3) Since I work from home, my OOTD usually consists of sweatpants and old band shirts, so it'll really be more like OOTW[eek].
4) I don't have a good set-up for these photos. Most of my walls are covered with art and tapestries and installations so the only bare backdrop I have is of a concrete wall in one of the unfinished rooms in the basement. As you'll see, the lighting is horrendous and doesn't really do anything for any of the clothes I'm wearing. It looks like the photo was taken from a camera phone in the 2000s.

Etsy: Kitchen Confidential

New items up on Etsy! They're all kitchen items I've had for months but was just too lazy to put up. My scale is also too small for glass items and I don't have appropriate size boxes so I kind of winged it on the shipping estimates.

I'm always coming across gorgeous Cutler glassware but whenever I do an online search, not a lot pops up. All I know is they were based out of Toronto in the 1970s and they made a lot of really cool custom drinkware. It's unfortunate they're not more coveted by collectors because nobody is snapping up these cool pieces. Popularity kind of dictates interest and when nobody knows about a great brand, nobody wants to pay money for it.

This next item I haven't listed yet because I think I might want to use it once before getting rid of it. I've always wanted a Le Creuset dutch oven and this is the closest thing I have to it (it's enamel-coated cast iron). I got it from Memory Lane years ago before I had a booth there and I can't put it up in my booth because of the unsaid agreement that you don't resell/mark-up items from a fellow vendor (and I know that vendor's still there because I saw her re-organizing her booth).

"Earth's Treasures" by Susan B. Schumacher. Original. I love when a stranger and I have the same affinity for a theme, this one being the Southwest. 

I always collect ceramics made by people vacationing in Mexico or anything Navajo, for instance, and this painting is a perfect encapsulation of the Southwest: cacti, Navajo ceramics, chili peppers, and a sombrero with a thunderbird on it.

Finally got The Orchard Keeper by Cormac McCarthy, the last book I needed in my collection of Vintage editions of early McCarthy novels. Vintage only did 5 books and The Orchard Keeper was the rarest of them so I'm pretty glad my set's complete.

Got this dresser at an estate sale for a steal. 

I love the USA color scheme and I almost wanna leave it the way it is and keep it for myself but I've been looking for a dresser recently so I could do this...

I definitely have my work cut out for me, what with this dresser project and finishing my shelf project but painting for me is the best part, I actually find it fun.

An Art Deco waterfall dresser for $89. This guy's a good price and if I hadn't purchased my current Art Deco dresser recently, this would be sitting in my bedroom right now.

Thrift Haul: Fashion Edition

I buy a lot of clothes. I can spend $4 on a t-shirt at a thrift store and I can also spend $400 on a 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt.

I go through phases when I thrift; sometimes I'm only looking for long sleeve blouses or a perfect pair of white jeans, other times I'm only on the hunt for wool blankets or enamel kitchenware. If I thoroughly went through every section of every thrift store I went to, I'd be a corpse. I only have enough energy to devote my time to one hunt per store, so as not to burn out.

But today I did things a little differently. I gotta make the most of my time now that I don't have a car and am borrowing my boyfriend's dad's truck. I think I spent over two hours at Talize.
